Its the 10th fixture of the year for Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, the second and third-placed teams respectively in the Bundesliga. And while the odds are skewed in Bayern’s favor, Leipzig recently handed the current table leaders Borussia Dortmund their first loss of the season, so they’re no strangers to an upset.

Starting with one of the most talented rosters in all of football, Bayern Munich could be seen as underachieving thus far. In a tie with Borussia for First place in Bundesliga, Bayern finds themselves playing second fiddle due to their lesser goal total (25 to 22). This is still leaps and bounds ahead of most of the league, but they could stand to improve even farther.
One of the largest signings of this past offseason was James Rodriguez supposedly emerging from the shadow of Real Madrid, but thus far he has only produced a single goal in 9 matches. In fact, Bayern has 10 goal scorers of 2 or fewer goals, with their main breadwinner being Robert Lewandowski with 9 tallies.
Even without the offensive firepower, Bayern Munich has still only allowed 7 goals, tied for the fewest in the league. 4 of those came in back to back draws, meaning they’ve been scored on only 4 of out of 9 matchups.
Their +15 goal difference goes head to head with RB Leipzig’s +6, 16 goals for and 10 against. In most other leagues that would be an incredible ratio, but is impressive none the less that it could see them on top of the league table with a win.
Leipzig has finished almost every match so far this season with a score of 2-1, showing they have talent on the front end but issues keeping the door closed in the back. It doesn’t help either that they have no largely consistent goal scorers, with Timo Werner leading the team with 5 goals. If they hope to beat a team like Bayern, they will need more than players notching their first of the season.
Bayern Munich 3 – 1 RB Leipzig
Bayern Munich has battled back through two consecutive draws to tie for the top table spot, and they look to reclaim it here again. While the odds are definitely skewed in their favor, RB Leipzig will give them a run for their money in the hunt for the title of surprise Giant killers.
Look for Bayern Munich (1.33), Over 2.5 goals (1.36), and both teams to score (1.57) all to hit.Bet Now!
