At the start of every NFL season you never truly know who will dominate the league that year. This year it very well could be either of these two teams, The Cardinals entering with their Titan Running Back David Johnson, and Lions with the highest paid Quarter Back in the league Matthew Stafford.
Arizona – -2 (-110)
Detriot – +2 (-110)
Arizona – (-130)
Detriot – (+110)
Total Over Under – 48.0
Over – (-110)
Under – (-110)
This is a struggle of two teams that are slowly growing into polar opposites. Cardinals Quarter Back Carson Palmer has been consistent through his career but he is getting old (38 in December), as well as their star receiver Larry Fitzgerald. While they will make an impact through the game, it’s all about David Johnson on offense. He scored 20 touchdowns and had over 2000 yards from scrimmage and is vying for the title of Best in the league.
On the other side, Detriot just couldn’t care less about running the ball, Its all on the shoulders of Gun Slinger Matt Stafford, receivers Golden Tate and Marvin Jones as well as pre-season darling Kenny Golladay, and Tight End Eric Ebron. The Cardinals Pass defense is vaunted, but when you see those four men running around the parts of the field Patrick Peterson and Tyran Mathieu aren’t covering, Stafford should score more than the odds would have you believe.
So here’s how this match up breaks down, a team that loves running the ball on a team that can get run all over against a team that throws all over the field against a top 10 pass defense. While Arizona may have more concentrated talent, they have larger holes than the Lions do.
Arizona Cardinals 21 – 35 Detriot Lions
The chances this game actually ends under 48 total points are so low with the offensive powers on display. The Cardinals should do well through the year, but with their stars ages climbing pretty high, it should be too much for them to keep up with this week.
We are taking The Lions (+110) to cover the +2 spread (-110), and Over 48.0 points (-110).
