Here at The Field General, we love the little match, the weird ones. The odd one out.
Last season Freiburg and Eintract Frankfurt were middle of the Bundesliga pack, and only look worse this year, so naturally we’re intrigued by how they’ll fare against each other.
SC Freiberg – (11/8)
Eintract Frankfurt – (2/1)
Draw – (9/4)
Goal Over/Under – 2.5
Over – (1/1)
Under – (4/5)
Both Teams To Score
Yes – (3/4)
Working backwards, scoring was a disaster last year for both teams. Eintract Frankfurt was only able to score 36 goals (4th worst) and finished with a goal difference of -7, which was good for a record of 11-9-14.
Freiburg scored 42 goals (5th worst) and had a whopping goal difference of -18, but those 6 goal advantage resulted in 3 more wins.
with the goal difference set at the standard 2.5, here’s some simple advice: take the under. Frankfurt’s leading scorer is Marco Fabian with 7, and then nobody else tops 5.
Freiburg lost young talents Vincenzo Grifo and Maximilian Philipp in the transfer market, taking their combined 15 goals with them. Niederlechner and Peterson both combined for 21 goals last season. The other scorers tallied 3, 1, 1, 1 goal totals respectively.
Freiburg 1 – 1 Eintract Frankfurt
Neither team wants to score. One team has the advantage of having two semi-prolific scorers; they just also happen to be on a team that loves to get scored on, forth most in the league, in fact.
That should be worth the expectation that neither team will put the total over 2, but should at least put one up on equally bad competition.
The odds on Freiburg winning are based not out of them performing well, but rather Frankfurt continuing their trend of scoring less than a goal a game. I feel more confident in a draw.Bet Now!
