Last season The Miami Dolphins reached the playoffs in what is a stacked AFC conference. Now, with a lot of negative news coming out of Miami, what are the odds of The Dolphins repeating a winning season?
Over/Under – 7.5 Wins
Over – +100
Under – -137
*According to Oddschecker
Whether or not it has something to do with recent happenings, the odds favouring 7 or less wins is fair.
Firstly, last season was the first winning record (10-6) the Dolphins has notched in 8 seasons. It’s easier to read in to that as a fluke rather that the new trend, especially when you consider who they play against this season: The Patriots twice, The Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Falcons, Titans and Saints.
The biggest news coming out of Miami seems to be that Tannehill is being snuck out of the starting Quarterback job. After reinjuring his knee, The Dolphins head coach Adam Gase brought in his old hand out of Chicago, Jay Cutler. Then, when it turned out Tannehill wasn’t as badly hurt as they thought he was, Gase said Cutler “wasn’t here to sit on the bench.”
So now the Phins have two Quarterbacks who love to throw interceptions and lose games.
On the injury front, star in the making Jay Ajayi just can’t stay healthy, dealing with a concussion before the season even begins.
Match that was young stud receiver Devante Parker’s inability to get in shape, they’re now down three stars. It could be four if Star Jarvis Landry is suspended, as he is being charged with Domestic Battery.
What this all adds up to should be the expectation the will hit the Under total, and is worth a bet. You should try to jump on these odds now, before they move as they’re struggles grow through the pre-season.
